They both want the bow for themselves, but once Monkey starts to play, no-one can stop dancing - even if they want to!
Author Biography
Dianne Hofmeyr grew up in South Africa. She has written many books for children including The Magic Bojabi Tree (also illustrated by Piet Grobler) and Zeraffa Giraffa with Jane Ray, translated in many languages. Her latest picture book is Tiger Walk, also published by Otter-Barry Books. She loves doing workshops with children and enjoys their creative responses to her stories. Di lives in west London. Of his work, Piet Grobler says, "I simply tell stories with my paintings". But it is a magical simplicity, rich in suggestion and resonance. He has illustrated many highly acclaimed books, most recently the anthology of African stories with Beverley Naidoo, Who is King?, and is the recipient of many international awards, including the Golden Apple at the Bratislava Biennale for Illustration and a Silver Medal in the Japanese Noma Concours. Piet Grobler lives in South Africa.
Reviews"In her usual animated fashion with plenty of dialogue, Dianne Hofmeyr has refashioned this folk tale from the African continent that is a lively read aloud. Grobler's scratchy characters are a mix of endearing humour and downright scariness. They certainly snare the attention...each scene offers a wealth of quirky detail to pore over." * Red Reading Hub *
