Alexandre Dumas (24 July 1802 - 5 December 1870) was an eccentric and wildly successful French writer. He is best known for his tales of high adventure, such as "The Three Musketeers" and "The Count of Monte Cristo". He is one of the most widely read French authors in the world. Lou Cameron (20 June 1924 - 25 November 2010) became a successful American novelist and comic book creator after an initial stint as a comic book illustrator.
