Description
Age range 12+ Lindy's cousin has got her a job - it means visiting a rented house in Hayling Island, putting the lights on and watering the plants. But it's a cannabis farm, and Lindy is caught up in an international drugs ring. Then Lindy finds help from an unexpected ally: weird, mute Karl from school. Together they plan a daring and desperate escape. But when you're in this deep, can you ever be free? Touching, surprising and painfully honest, Illegal follows up Miriam Halahmy's acclaimed first novel, Hidden. 'Well written, gritty...an author who can deal with tough, hard-hitting issues and keep things realistic.' - The Bookbag
