Originally published 1977. This book surveys the history of the North Island west coast north of Wellington from pre-European times and also covers historic Kapiti Island. It briefly examines contemporary events but concentrates on earlier times to produce a historical record of the mainly narrow coastal belt extending north from Pukerua Bay to Turakina. Includes bibliography, index, photos and two maps.
