Description
As a rider, testing your skill over jumps is one of the most exhilarating experiences. Part of developing the confidence to soar over the pole or rail comes from an understanding of the nature of the jump and how better to understand this than to know how it is built, or, better still, build your own. A practical, step-by-step guide to the construction of a set of show jumps and their associated fillers, Building Show Jumps explains everything you need to know clearly, concisely, and with numerous photographs and diagrams. * Starting techniques and building sturdy feet * Basic jumps, rectangle wings and standard wings * Spread jumps, pillars and stile jumps * Considers health and safety, tools and materials AUTHOR: Andy Radford has been building dry stone walls for sixteen years and first became interested in fence construction when he worked with the Peak District National Park Authority and trained in a number of rural crafts. He runs a landscape business in North Wales and has acted as a consultant, designer and contractor for a variety of clients including schools and local government organizations. He has written articles on the environment for a number of periodicals including The Guardian. 90 b/w photos
