Description

Ages 6 to 9 years A wonderful and touching story about friendship and inclusion by firsttime author Alice Hemming. The penguins of Heavenly Hippo Wildlife Park have started up a new club... but only black and white animals are invited to join! Poor George the giraffe feels terribly left out as the only giraffe in the park. He tries several cunning schemes to join the popular Black and White Club, but he can't fool the penguins. Then he comes up with an even better scheme. He creates a new club with new guidelines that means everyone can join.

Author Biography

Alice lives in East Hertfordshire with her two small children who provide lots of inspiration for her work. She writes for children of all ages but is particularly passionate about picture books. Alice is fantastic at events and particularly enjoys visiting schools. Alice is a proactive SCBWI member. Author of: The Black and White Club, Gold Star for George, Bibble and the Bubbles, Robopop, George and the New Craze, Rickety Rocket, Sheep on the Run! and Arlo, Mrs Ogg and the Dinosaur Zoo Kimberley Scott is a professional Illustrator and Designer, working from her home studio in London. Kimberley likes to dip her inken pen in a variety of projects including childrens books, greetings cards, puzzles, stationery and calligraphy. With a fascination for line and a slight obsession with all things inky Kimberley has developed her own quirky yet somewhat traditional illustrative style. She starts all her creations by hand, using a mix of pencil, pen and ink, and then either moves to her trusty Mac or takes to the freedom of watercolours to bring her characters and illustrations to life. Kimberley loves to delve into an imaginative world, with pattern, detail and a slight 'skewiff' essence being key to her work. Illustrator of: The Black and White Club, Gold Star for George and George and the New Craze
