He is a professor and chairman of the Art History Department at Rice University. An expert on the Italian Renaissance, he has published numerous works on this period, including a book on Andrea Mantegna. Megan McShane received her Ph.D. from Emory University with a focus on European avant-garde art during the First and Second World Wars.
