Description
The main directory is organised by type of trim, from lacy edgings and beaded braids to fringes and insertions. Each design is graded according to level of skill required (many require patience rather than skill!) and features clear instructions (with charts in some cases) - cross-referenced to a step-by-step stitch guide - with beautifully photographed swatches. Each section includes a simple and stylish project demonstrating decorative ways in which to utilize the trims, from scarves to bags, fashion extras to home accessories.

ReviewsDec 07 The sub-title to this soft-cover book of 128 pages is '150 designs for beautiful decorative edgings, from beaded braids to cables, bobbles and fringes'. For each of the edgings there is a photograph of a worked piece together with a picture-index to each section so yu can see the contents at a glance. The samples are even colour-coded so you can tell which chapter they belong to. This well-illustrated book is well worth a look if you would like an inexpensive source of reference. Lesley Fidler * SlipKnot * Dec 07 You can easily transform a shop-bought item or a jaded homeknit with the addition of just a trim or edging. This book is a complete library of 150 different ways to give any item an individual look. It begins with a selection of easy but effective edgings with bold points, curls and beads. Following this are dense and bold braids that will give a professional edge to a throw or blanket. There are curved and scalloped edges and a big choice of lacy trims too ending with a fabulous section of loopy and fringed finishing touches. With intricate bands for bag tops or cushions and floral additions too, there is nothing that need not be embellished with a knitted highlight. The bands are all clearly photographed in a directory you can browse and patterns are provided further on. It is an extremely clear and well-photographed book with a refresher course for basic techniques and five project ideas. * Knit Today *
