Description
Colour has the ability to transform your beadwork from mundane to magnificent. This indispensable book features 200 failsafe colour schemes created especially for beaders. Targeted at the beginning beader as well as the seasoned artist, basic colour-mixing principles are explained, and you'll discover how finish can greatly alter the effect. The main directory section is organised into tonal groups and features a wide range of inspirational themes, from the clean, fresh colours of Spring Bouquet to the sizzling hues of Indian Spice. Each colour scheme is demonstrated on an item of jewelry to clearly show the effect, and graphic icons identify the precise colour mix and proportions used. Includes a selection of projects, with step-by-step instructions, allowing you to put your colour mixing theory into practice and create a range of beautiful beaded jewelry.

ReviewsIssue 4, June/July 2007 I already own a book on colour for beaders, which I love, so I wasn't expecting this book to add anything else or be as informative. I was completely wrong! This book is amazingly interesting and informative about colour and I do feel that I learned a lot from reading it. It also has 10 really nice and appealing projects that each have different colour combination ideas, and I do think I might end up beading at least one version of each project, they're that good. If you like beading, then you will like this book. I feel it is even worth the price just for all of the 100s of photos of beadwork. All the pieces have words to go with them to tell you more about the colours and a 'chart' that shows you how the colours used split up percentage wise. I found this really useful to help me choose some colour combinations that I wouldn't have been sure about before. I'm sure this is going to be one of those 'well-thumbed' book that I return to again and again. Jocelyn Williams * Bead *
