Description
Come closer and listen to these chilling ghostly tales, from master storyteller, Martin Waddell. For when darkness falls, there are echoes and creaks and whispers in the night ..." ...the stories are quite beautifully written. The pastel pictures, too, echo the atmosphere of the stories and the end product is a book which is a joy to own." - Carousel.Martin Waddell treats us to a feast of ghostly stories, like that of Lady Charles, who after greedily gorging on food and wine finds The Hunger quietly waiting for her; or lonely old Boneless, a restless spirit that craves company in a deserted farmhouse; or the kindly soul of Farmer Soft Butter, as he returns peace to his farm and those he loves. All these stories and more glow from each page as Sophy Williams' atmospheric illustrations ensure these haunting tales linger with you, long after you have closed the book.
