Description

It's Hallowe'en in Grimbrook, and that really means something here. It's when the veil between our world and the world of the paranormal is at its thinnest. It's the perfect time for Mason to go hunting for ghouls and phantoms, break a witch's curse and don his best fancy dress for the school dance. When Mason spots something sinister in the gym, he knows he has to follow it and find out what's going on. With parallel dimensions, evil clones and sudden showers of frogs, Mason Mooney: Doppelganger Detective is another hilarious and spooky adventure for kids that love twists, turns and mysteries.

Author Biography

Seaerra Miller grew up in a small town in Wyoming where she spent her days picking dandelions and watching old westerns from her grandma's small movie collection. In 2015 she moved to Portland, Oregon to study art at the Pacific Northwest College of art and Design. Since graduating in the spring of 2017 she has worked for several publications and organisations such as Cricket Media, Apartment Therapy, Oni Press and Snap Chat. She illustrated the Hilda companion novels to the Netflix series for Flying Eye before writing and illustrating her own graphic novel series, Mason Mooney: Paranormal Investigator.

Reviews

Mason Mooney's return is very welcome. -- Frank Plowright * The Slings & Arrows Graphic Novel Guide * This graphic novel style test proved highly popular with readers as there is so much to explore in both the illustrations and the text. Just the right amount of spooky, funny, and mysterious for readers aged 8+ to enjoy. -- Library Girl and Book Boy Talk about going from strength to strength. I loved the role of the intrusive narrator throughout & the range of panelling and design. -- Matthew Tobin, Literature Academic and Klaus Flugge Prize Judge for 2021
