Description
The dark, funny and ambitious early writings of one of Britain's best-loved writers. Jane Austen's name is synonymous with witty, cutting novels about the manners and money of Britain's high society. This collection of her youthful writings shows the author grappling with the themes that would define her later writing and showcases her trademark irony. Containing the short epistolary novels Love and Freindship and Lady Susan, as well as an eclectic mix of early writings, this collection is a must-have for any Austen fan. Part of a boldly designed series of classics, with wider margins for notes, this book is perfect for design-lovers and students alike. With bold, eye-catching graphic covers by Evi O Studio, this collection aims to introduce a selection of the most celebrated works of the last thousand years to a new audience. Featuring tales of adventure, fiction from the 19th and 20th centuries, feminist writings, and reflections on art, politics, philosophy and the origins of man, this is a small, wide-reaching and essential collection. 'His heart, which was as delicate as sweet and as tender as a Whipt-syllabub, could not resist her attractions.'
