Author Biography

G.M. Linton (Author) G.M. Linton found her way back to her first loves of reading and creative writing after decades of ignoring the two - and now enjoys nothing better than snatching time to read a good book and losing herself whilst imagining characters and storylines. She is particularly inspired by her parents, who arrived in Britain from Jamaica as part of the Windrush generation in the 1950s. G.M. Linton lives with her family in the West Midlands. She can be found happily snacking on stuffed green olives and may be partial to a slice of cake or two.

Reviews

A book as warm and radiant as sunshine itself! I loved it. -- Lisa Thompson I was utterly enthralled by this heartwarming story. Through Sunshine, G.M. Linton has perfectly captured childhood insecurities and wrapped them up in a huge, uplifting hug with a message that says: be yourself; be proud of who you are. I particularly loved the story's celebration of the Windrush generation, the palpable sense of community, and the warmth I felt when reading about Sunshine's wonderful bond with her Grandad Bobby. -- Jen Carney Powerful and poignant, it's a celebration of the Windrush generation and the achievements of Black heroes, and it's infused with Caribbean humour, warmth and wisdom...an exciting new voice and one to watch. Every so often I discover a new writer who completely blows me away. This is one of them. I can't tell you how this book made me LAUGH and how it made me CRY. And how I kept thinking just how lucky we all are that books like this exist today. I'm just so in love with this book. When you find something as special as this, you want everyone to read it! so moving, but also hilarious and heartwarming It's all so warm and wonderful. -- Rashmi Sirdeshpande Sunshine lives up to her name - she's charming and hilarious and so is this wonderful debut title. -- Aisha Bushby
