Description

Fun-filled, action-packed adventures in time from best-selling, award-winning author, Sally Nicholls. When Alex and Ruby fall through the mirror in their aunt's house, they find themselves in a different historical period, each time with a different task to perform before they can return to the present. From Edwardian crime capers to Victorian Christmasses, their time-slip stories are always exciting and beautifully told. When a furious French aristocrat lands in Alex and Ruby's hallway, they have to hide her in Regency England. Can they stop her causing chaos? Probably not... Classic storytelling from a brilliant writer and beautifully illustrated throughout by Rachael Dean, with covers by Isabelle Follath. One of these books is never enough!

Author Biography

Sally Nicholls was born in Stockton-on-Tees, just after midnight, in a thunderstorm. She spent most of her childhood trying to make real life as much like a book as possible. Her first book, Ways to Live Forever, won the Waterstones Children's Book Prize in 2008 and in 2015 her book An Island of Our Own was shortlisted for the Costa children's prize. Sally lives in a little house in Oxford, writing stories and trying to believe her luck. Rachael Saunders is an illustrator based in Hampshire, UK. With a strong interest in the rich printed aesthetic of 1960's children's books, her work explores colour, shape and texture in a vibrant and humorous manner. From a young age Rachael has always loved to draw; to now have her hobby become a career, she feels extremely blessed.
