Lesley Barnes is an illustrator and animator based in Glasgow. Her vibrant work appears in children's books, fashion illustration and design collaborations with the V&A and the Tate Galleries. She is the author and illustrator of Jill and Dragon and Jill and Lion and has animated a music video for Scottish band Belle & Sebastian.

Many of us are familiar with the tale of The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen - a fairytale I loved dearly as a child and one I have really enjoyed sharing with my children, thanks to this book published by @templarbooks and illustrated so incredibly by Lesley Barnes. I defy you to find an edition so beautiful as this one. On each and every double page there is a pop up to set the scene of the tale, the detail is so very intricate and extremely cleverly done.
