Description
Issac plays in his favourite pool on the mountainside. As rain starts to fall, he empties his little jar of water into the pool and races the sparkling streams as they tumble over waterfalls, rush through swollen rivers and burst out into the vast open sea. Where will my little jar of water go now? Issac wonders. On the other side of the world, Cassi welcomes the rain to her parched village . . . From tiniest raindrop to deepest ocean, this breathtaking celebration of the water cycle captures the remarkable movement of water across the earth in all its majesty. A stunning new non-fiction picture book from Greenaway medal-winner, Grahame Baker-Smith.

ReviewsThe real triumph of this book is in the almost otherworldly scenes depicted in its illustrations * Just Imagine Centre * Thoughtful and visually rewarding this should be on every library shelf * Books for Keeps * Grahame Baker-Smith is a huge talent in picture book illustration, and his images of the natural world here are deep, vibrant and painterly, which will absorb slightly older picture book readers in their watery depths. * Book Trust * Each spread is stunning, hugely evocative of the world waiting to be explored, and reminding us how precious is each drop of water * Reading Zone * Perfect for enjoying, 'The Rhythm of the Rain' could be used as a way into work on rivers or the water cycle. It could also be used to inspire poetry and descriptive writing. Just beautiful! * North Somerset Teachers Book Award *
