Description

Maker.Home features 15 projects for the perfectly designed interior space. Created by designer-maker Tobias George, whose brand is inspired by a love of good craftsmanship combined with a beautiful aesthetic and consciousness of materials, the projects range from the utterly simple to the technically advanced. 'Maker' is the word for someone who creates with their hands. The physical act of making can result in something useful, beautiful, or both - while the process instils a sense of the value of the things we choose to surround ourselves with, and the peaceful satisfaction brought about by the act of making with our hands. Encouraging the use of reclaimed and sustainably sourced materials, Tobias's step-by-step instructions make it simple to create practical yet impressive accessories for your home, from constructing and finishing a clean and pared-back chopping board made from oak offcuts, to building your own steam box and bending wood to create a Scandi-influenced desk lamp. Beautiful photographs sharing styling ideas accompany each project, inspiring you to fill your surroundings with well-designed items, built with your own hands to truly stand the test of time.
