Description
Some people own a dog, whilst others are owned by their dogs - but either way the relationship between each is unique and special. Dogs come into our lives, bringing with them a level of devotion never before experienced . They make us laugh at their antics and funny ways, and when they leave us after a life-too-short, they break our hearts and leave our homes empty and echoing. This book is a collection of stories, photographs and illustrations that will make you laugh and cry. The stories are based on real dogs, which have been lovingly recreated by Stephanie as handmade felt models. A book that will appeal to both creative felt-makers and dog lovers alike.
Author Biography
Stephanie - a qualified teacher, who has worked with primary school-aged children for over 25 years - has a serious passion for art and creativity. She taught herself how to make felt once her own children had started school, as she loves traditional crafts and enjoys learning new skills. Her attention to detail meant that she quickly developed her skills, and moved on to lifelike representations of animals, particularly dogs. Stephanie cares for four dogs who belong to other people, as well as her own beloved Border Terrier, Heidi, to whom she is devoted. All of the dogs she cares for are a constant source of inspiration and fun.
ReviewsStephanie's lifelike representations of animals, particularly dogs, have become treasured mementos to her customers. In this book, Stephanie takes a look at some of the pets that she has recreated and showcases the special bond between them and their humans. Each dog and felt replica appear alongside their backstory, retold by Stephanie in the dog's voice. Some of the stories will make you laugh; others are inspiring. It's a delightful, easy read that you can dip in and out of, and you may even decide to commission a miniature felt model of your four-legged friend. - Dogs Monthly.
