Reviews

I am very impressed with this book! Although it has a few patterns in this book it is primarily a source book for some beautiful lace patterns. These patterns, which are very well produced and detailed, can then be applied to any knitting you might need to add some decoration. I knit a lot of socks and can see me adding panels of lace to a plain sock. This could be applied to any garment you may need to add interest. The photographs are very clear and text is easy to read and understand. All the patterns are in written and chart form. There are several useful techniques listed and I personally found the article on blocking your completed work extremely informative. This very well-presented book is a brilliant book for any knitter's library. -- Heather Tucker * Amazon Customer Review * Here's an easy-to-follow book, with 13 projects, to give the inspiration and skills to transform beginners into accomplished experts. All the swatches have clear photos and each stitch has both written and chart form, so even novices can start right away. * Machine Knitting Monthly * This is a very informative book with stitch ideas, lace patterns and great information about techniques to aid a knitter new to knitting lace. The photography clearly highlights the patterns and I really like the fact that there are charts as well as written instructions which caters for people who have different learning styles. There are a variety of patterns to choose from as well as lots of ideas where lace can be used for the knitter's personal projects such as a scarf, cushion cover or blanket. The lessons at the back of the book are a useful backup for any beginner or intermediate knitter and can be used for other projects involving knitting and will help to develop new or reinforce techniques. This book will be an asset to add to your knitting book library. -- Monica Russel * theknitknacks.co.uk *
