Description
Dad is a Master Baker and Albert is expected to one day follow in his footsteps. There's just one problem ... Albert doesn't care about baking, he only cares about football, tennis, cricket and any other sport you can think of. When his dad invents The 'Doughmaster 5000' to help out around the bakery, it seems all their problems have been solved. But disaster is never far away and soon Dad's miracle solution is a rampaging nightmare! With just a pair of football boots, a tennis racket and a cricket bat to hand, can Albert really come to the resuce and fix this mess?
Author Biography
Phil Earle was born and raised in Hull. His first job was as a care worker in a children's home. Phil then chose the more sedate life of a bookseller, and now works in children's publishing. He is the author of several award-winning novels including Get Me Out of Here, a recent collaboration with Andy McNab, Being Billy, and The Bubble Wrap Boy. Steve May studied illustration and animation. His exuberant, madcap, action-packed style makes his work extremely popular - it's become a regular feature in the world of children's books.
Reviews"An admirable addition to the [Little Gems] series ... The story is funny and moves at a fast pace ... A great read for young children" --The English Association "This sparkling new story - brimming with Earle's signature wicked wit and May's anarchic illustrations - delivers slapstick giggles and guffaws on every page" -- Lancashire Evening Post "Plenty of thrills and fun ... These pocket-sized stories are really accessible and entertaining ... Thoroughly recommended" -- The Letterpress Project "This book is guarenteed to have young readers giggling!" -- Makebelieve and Manuscripts, blog "A laugh-out-loud sci-fi adventure!" -- Kate Heap, Scope for Imagination
