Author Biography
Alexander McCall Smith is one of the world's most prolific and most popular authors. He is perhaps best known for the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency books which have sold over 20 million copies worldwide. He is the author of over 30 books for children and has won numerous awards for his writing, including the British Book Awards Author of the Year Award in 2004 and a CBE for services to literature in 2007. He lives in Edinburgh.
