Description
Marcus is a maths whiz who is not good at sport. His dad is a self-help author who thinks Marcus can achieve anything he sets his mind to... with hilarious results. In illustrated diary format, Marcus's gentle, satiric humour and comic drawings will have readers laughing out loud while learning a surprising amount about sport.
Author Biography
Shamini Flint lives in Singapore with her husband and two children. She began her career in law in Malaysia and also worked at an international law firm in Singapore. She travelled extensively around Asia for her work, before resigning to be a stay-at-home mum, writer, part-time lecturer and environmental activist, all in an effort to make up for her 'evil' past as a corporate lawyer! Shamini has written many books for children and is also known for her Inspector Singh Investigates series of crime fiction for adults. Sally Heinrich is a freelance illustrator who has illustrated more than thirty books, as well as working for advertising agencies, design studios and government departments. Sally has lived in Singapore, Sydney and Darwin and is now living in Adelaide. Her most recent book, One Step at a Time (written by Jane Jolly), has been shortlisted for the 2016 CBCA Picture Book of the Year.
Reviews"An excellent choice for readers daunted by the move to less illustrated texts. In many ways, it reads like a graphic novel. Recommended for independent readers and reluctant readers." --Claire Saxby, aussiereviews.com
