Author Biography
James Halliday is an unmatched authority on every aspect of the Australian wine industry and can be compared to the likes of Hugh Johnson, Robert Parker and Jancis Robinson. His winemaking has led him to sojourns in Bordeaux and Burgundy, and he has had a long career as an international wine judge. In 1995 he received the Australian wine industry's ultimate accolade, the Maurice O'Shea Award, and in 2010 he was made a Member of the Order of Australia. In the 2023 guide, James works alongside Tyson Stelzer, in the role of chief editor, and an expanded team of tasters, who each focus on specific wine regions for the first time.
