Description
Los Angeles is a sprawling metropolis famous for being the home of Hollywood. And while you can definitely join the tourist buses to see Rodeo Drive, there are also awesome local restaurants, sustainable cafes, park hikes, food trucks, vintage emporiums, rooftop hangs and galleries to discover. Los Angeles Pocket Precincts is your curated guide to the city's best cultural, shopping, eating and drinking experiences, and its most accessible and budget-friendly choices. Each precinct takes in one or more of LA's districts with insider reviews of both outstanding attractions and hidden gems, as well as easy-to-use maps. The guide also has a selection of field trips that encourages you to venture outside the city to Palm Springs, Ojai, Catalina Island and Joshua Tree. Slip this guide into your pocket and head off on an adventure, experiencing the very best places in LA and its surrounds.
Author Biography
Australian freelance writer and editor Andrea Black has been a regular visitor to Los Angeles since she was a child. In the past 15 years she has spent quality time every year exploring the city. At first, she found the sprawling city overwhelming but has since discovered the key to this metropolis: exploring one precinct at a time. Specialising in travel writing as it relates to design, architecture and music, Andrea's work has been published in magazines and newspapers from The New York Times Magazine to Better Homes and Gardens. She regularly contributes to Traveller in the Sydney Morning Herald, the Age, The Weekend Australian and Escape. She worked as an editor of magazines before going freelance, giving her more time to visit Los Angeles and discover new precincts of this endlessly fascinating city.
