Description
San Francisco is a city that needs little introduction. Author Sam Trezise highlights the very best of the Golden City, paying homage in equal parts to the iconic places and current trends that make this city so progressive. Discover the heart of the downtown area with its stalwart diners and dive bars, take a cable car across the city's undulating streets, or let the effects of Silicon Valley and tech giants like Google sink in while you shop in some of the best high-end designer shops and vintage stores to be found anywhere in the US. San Francisco Pocket Precincts is your curated guide to the city's best cultural, shopping, eating and drinking experiences, and its most accessible and budget-friendly choices. Each precinct takes in one or more of San Fran's traditional districts with insider reviews of both outstanding attractions and hidden gems, as well as easy-to-use maps. A selection of field trips also encourages you to venture further afield, to the outer Bay Areas, the Napa Valley wine region and Yosemite National Park.
Author Biography
Sam Trezise has made a career around creating guidebooks, ever eager to introduce people to what truly makes a city great. He started his journey founding Insider Guides, a student-focused series to Australia and the UK. In more recent times his attention has been on delving into the travel sector. Working with city councils, media providers and tourism commissions, he's been involved in projects of all shapes and sizes. Over the past few years, he's divided his time living between San Francisco and Australia (with a few research trips in-between). During this period he has worked on producing Hardie Grant Travel's Half-Full Adventure Map Series. The locations he explored encompassed San Francisco, New York City, Tokyo, London and Melbourne. He has also written Adelaide Pocket Precincts.
