Little Beaver Builds a Bed is an illustrated children's book that was created to introduce young children to the craft of woodworking and the importance of making things with their hands, and teamwork. Through the book, kids can follow Little Beaver's first adventure in his father's woodworking shop as they build their first project together. Katie Thompson is a writer, designer, and maker living in the swamps of Eutawille, SC with her husband Joseph and their shop dog Bella. She's had a passion for writing and creating since childhood. She has written for dwell.com, and has appeared on DesignFeast.com, in Furniture & Cabinetmaking, Art Mag, Charleston Magazine, and on the Today show. She is one half of Joseph Thompson Woodworks and the Owner/Maker of Black Swamp. Her woodworking has been exhibited at the American Craft Council, One of a Kind Chicago, Redux Contemporary Art Center, and the South Carolina State Museum.
