Description

Sugar Stripes is a curated collection of art made by Jon Savage. While creating art and expression, there was a breakthrough, where all his thoughts became striking works of art in the form of mood-influenced stripes. Jon's creations began to capture the essence of the world around him, catalyzed by growing up with a creative, vibrant stylist mother who unwittingly showed him the world with a myriad of colors. His father, who encouraged him to create with unstoppable hands, and to take advantage of various visual distractions, brought him and his art to where it is today. Jon feels and sees colors clearly in his mind's eye, using different levels of his experiences to transcend his art. Using his eyes to read the auras of subjects around him, he cultivates an atmosphere of creativity. His hands ignite to manifest his vision, thus turning life stories into visual journeys using classic, common subjects. He highlights in bold stripes to reflect moments in time and mood. The interpretation of the art is left to the viewers eye and perspective. Jon's stripe philosophy encourages the viewer to focus on the purpose of what is being seen. The stripes are a reflection of subliminal meanings that may reflect the subjects intended metaphor, which is often just in plain sight.

Author Biography

I had fueled my artistic creativity for as long as I can remember. I became more fascinated with the arts during his childhood years. I fell in love with all types of media/visual arts, such as photography, video editing, cinematography, acting and painting in different times and places. Throughout my Deaf childhood, I had remained passionately devoted to educating Deaf people about the linguistic, social, political and cultural issues of the Deaf community by traveling across the states and countries. Late 2011, I desires and aspirations to be an artist were once again fueled. I began creating contemporary art paintings based on people and classical subjects that inspired me by using abstract, bright colors and clean cut painting style. Currently I using my paintings/photographs as life stories that are reflected in my visual journey.
