Author Biography
Anthony Randall is the author of "My Life As A Black Gay Man." When reading Anthony's book, I am reminded of the resiliency of the human spirit. Having also grown up gay in the same era, and survived many of the same trials and tribulations, it was like revisiting my past. And the past of most gay men our age. The difference, however, was I did get support from members of my immediate family. It seemed to me that Anthony was adrift with NO ONE to turn to or shield him from the storms of a gay adolescent under siege. But like myself, much of the homo phobia he encountered was from within. Internal homophobia is a bitch. To lay night after night staring at the cieling awash in the shame of it all is a test that no child of God should have to endure. and self hate attached to Anthony's story. May we all read of Anthony's trip to self love and redemption, may we all learn the lessons needed so our next generation may be free of the shame and self hate attached to Anthony's story. May we all shine as Anthony has learned to do. Emmy Award winning actor Leslie Jordan
