Description
It's been three years since Kristen Carter's book Lose Weight? Exercise More? I Don't Think So! was first released. The End of Try Try Again is the updated and expanded version. Just like the first edition, this new book brings hope and the right tools to anyone looking to overcome past struggles to lose weight and exercise more. Forget the idea that you have to sign on to a restrictive diet or rigorous exercise plan in order to lose some weight and feel more energetic. Find a different way that allows YOU to be in control of your choices, and discover solutions that fit YOUR life. Trying to follow a prescribed diet or exercise program often leads to resistance and rebellion! This book shows you how to take charge of the process so you can get results that have eluded you in the past. Relying on will power alone to get through a diet or exercise program does not work! This book helps you find the deep motivation that leads to real success. Making changes around diet or exercise can feel overwhelming and uncomfortable! This book gives you manageable actions you can easily fit into your life to create lasting change. Find out how to break free from the old messages about diet and exercise and forge a new path to success. The OLD messages can lead to such thoughts as: "This diet will help me stay motivated because it will produce quick results." "I guess last time I tried, I just wasn't motivated enough." "I have to exercise hard to get the pounds off." "Once I get started, I will figure out how far I want to go with this." Unfortunately, we can get caught in a loop that doesn't show us the way out. The End of Try Try Again shows you why those old messages don't work, and gives you access to a whole new way of thinking about diet and exercise. Based on extensive research, it explains why making big changes to how we eat and what exercise we do is complicated. Little wonder that many of us have difficulty making changes that last longer than a few months. The End of Try Try Again starts with understanding why habit and behavior change can be so difficult. But that does not mean it can't be done! This book explains how our brains and bodies work so that we can work with them, not against them. It helps us find lasting motivation based on personal values, not passing fads. This book presents a clear, step-by-step way to finally break away from old thoughts and habits and embrace new, healthy behaviors that will stay with you into the future.

KRISTEN CARTER, MS has been working in fitness and nutrition for over 30 years. She is the founder of Design for Fitness LLC, the creator of the popular Design for Fitness Health and Fitness Blog, and the Health and Human Nature Blog for Psychology Today. After working in dental administration for 10 years, and then having a family, Kristen decided to get certified as a Personal Trainer, and complete a master's degree in Exercise Physiology. Since then, Kristen has worked in the Pennsylvania Department of Aging to present weight loss and exercise programs across the state of Pennsylvania. She has also worked for many years in Physical Therapy, using her skills to transition clients from rehabilitation to fitness. She completed a certification with Titleist Performance Institute as a golf fitness trainer. This includes certifications in Precision Nutrition, Lifestyle Management and Weight Control, and Health Coaching. Kristen re-examines the tools we have been using to lead healthier lives by taking a fresh look at some of the challenges we face. Obstacles such as images created by the fitness and diet industries, pressure from those selling the latest fad, body/brain chemistry, human nature, fast food, and our own busy lives and current lifestyles. She presents an easy to follow, step-by-step program that creates lasting inspiration for change that is sustainable.
