Description
"Out of the Garden" is a collection of poems for people who don't like poetry and a bonus for people that do. Reading Tarin's poetry has been described as going to a Poetry Slam, there is bold use of syncopation and rhythm in the nontraditional form that Tarin uses. Her poetry covers life experiences from the ordinary to the traumatic from the perspective of the Female View as well as current world events and trends. On occasion her perspective tends to the magical. Each poem is accompanied and enhanced by original art from Honduran artist Andrea Castaneda. This book is a journey through life and around the world. It explores profound sorrows and great joys and engages the reader through multiple senses; visually, auditorily and cognitively appealing to the imagination and to the heart. "Out of the Garden" is a profound experience that will leave the reader craving more.
Author Biography
The Poet In her 63 years of life, Tarin has been a waitress, a barmaid, a Peace Corps Volunteer in Southern Africa, a Construction Worker, a Special Education Teacher in the Rio Grande Valley, a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, a mother and has now found her voice in poetry. One of her favorite things to do is visit her adult daughter who lives in the Four Corners Area and her son who lives in the Pacific Northwest and visit Microbreweries and Cideries with them and her husband. She lives with her husband of 37 years in a 120-year-old house in central Montana which her husband has lovingly restored. She tends her gardens in the summer, hibernates in the winter, and writes poetry when the mood takes her. The Artist Andrea Estefania Castaneda Castro Artista 'Andrea The Artist' Andrea was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and her beginnings as an artist were from a very young age. She made her very first mural at the age of 13 for the Royal Kids of America San Pedro Sula School. Andrea sold her first painting at the age of 15, then followed her passion for comics and did some professional ones with her sister. Andrea then continued her art career studying at Savannah College of Art & Design where she studied illustration for a year. She continued studying graphic design when she returned to Mexico while working as an illustrator for several foreign companies, illustrating children's e-books. In 2018, on Roatan island, a short boat ride away from the Honduran coast, Andrea decided to have a sabbatical year and travel. Living on this island is something that she will always remember as it was her beginning as a muralist. As word spread, a plethora of places began hiring her mural skills; restaurants, bars, dive shops and more. As her clientele grew and her murals decorated more of the island, she became known by locals as Andrea the Artist. Since then, she has continued her art career as a muralist in Mexico and now, in the United States. Being in the US has allowed her to present her art in galleries in Washington DC, Virginia, New York City and Italy. She has been studying painting at Milan Art institute; building on those techniques and expanding her portfolio. She is currently a sponsored artist of the Mexican company Eco Workers and co- owner of the virtual gallery McGallery Art.
