When Slow-Down Munn, deputy U. S. marshal, arrives one night in the hell-bending copper camp of Laughing Horse, it is with the intention of posing as a drifting smokeroo and hiring out his pistols to Sheriff Loma Jack, who it seems is powerless to check the turbulent stream of killings, robberies and other criminal acts which are swiftly giving his county seat a most unenviable reputation. But hardly has Munn walked his pony the length of the towns main drag when he finds himself a marked man, involved inextricably in a cold-deck game of draw.
