Late one warm January afternoon, nine strangers rode into the town of Florence, Arizona. They had travelled many miles through dangerous Apache country, looking for a place to settle and start a new life. The choice of Florence was the worst mistake any of them had ever made. For there was one man who, as he watched them ride into town, had decided to kill each and every one of them. A most respected citizen of Florence, he was a man who for many years had been harbouring a secret grudge - which only the deaths of these nine would erase - and this made him one of the most dangerous killers the West had ever known.
