Author Biography
Timothy Malcolm was born in inner-city Philadelphia and spent the first 24 years of his life (sans a few vacations) amid the dizzying blitz of the East Coast urban aesthetic. He hadn't even taken an actual hike, let alone spent one night outdoors, until he moved to the Hudson Valley of New York, home to rolling hills, mountain ranges that slice across the terrain like a crew cut, and swimming holes that you absolutely have to find. In this American playground, Timothy went on his first hike, the results of which can still be found on YouTube and will surely become fodder later in life. Since, he's summited peaks throughout New York and New England, along the Appalachian Trail, and in national parks like Acadia, Rocky Mountain, and Olympic.
