Description

We spend countless hours training our dogs, but how often do we consider what they have to teach us? Our canine companions aren't just our best friends, explains Tami Simon They naturally embody many of the spiritual principles we ourselves aspire to. The Dharma of Dogs shares the reflections of Buddhist writers and other teachers who have found a source of deep truth and practical wisdom beneath the furry surface of our four-legged friends.

Reviews

"You will be charmed, saddened, entertained, and totally uplifted by these stories of our communing with dogs. Each has its particular flavor of Zen-dog wisdom. And each is a falling in love. Beyond delightful, this collection in a total winner!" --Tara Brach, author of Radical Acceptance and True Refuge "The stories in this fine collection are moving and engaging, and reveal the depth of emotion--the soul life of the universe--we share in common with our dog companions. The presence of these remarkable beings in our ordinary lives brings home to us again and again that our lives and theirs are actually anything but ordinary." --Douglas Sloan, professor emeritus at Columbia University and author of The Redemption of the Animals
