Author Biography
A pioneer of science fiction, H. G. Wells (1866-1946) wrote thrilling adventures about time travel, space exploration, alien invasion, and scientific experiments gone awry. His tales of obsession, revelation, and discovery remain compellingly readable and relevant. Warwick Goble (1862-1943) was among the most important figures from the Golden Age of Illustration. As a resident illustrator at Macmillan, he created dazzling images for The Water Babies, The Modern Reader's Chaucer, Treasure Island, Kidnapped, and many other books.
