Description

As rigorous as it is sumptuous, the work of Roger Ferris + Partners blends high style and modernist principles. This is the firm's first monograph. With an approach to design that synthesizes creative imagination and rational logic, the firm of Roger Ferris + Partners has pursued diverse and challenging projects for a wide range of clients, resulting in buildings of various types and scales- club houses, offices, theaters, schools, artist studios, restaurants, and more. In each, fulfilling the client's functional needs is always rendered in the most elemental and legible ways while retaining formal elegance and dramatic power. Based on simple geometric forms and a sustained exploration of the archetypal brise-soleil, Ferris' architecture incorporates extensive natural light, maximum openness both to the outside and on the interior, excellence of materials, and aesthetic pleasure.
