Description
Dramatic Rituals are more than costumes and play-acting with magical intent. Aleister Crowley wrote in Magick in Theory and Practice, "The object of them is almost invariably the invocation of a God, and that God conceived in a more or less material and personal fashion. These Rituals are therefore well suited for such persons as are capable of understanding the spirit of Magick as opposed to the letter. One of the great advantages of them is that a large number of persons may take part, so that there is consequently more force available." The Equinox published from 1909-1919 became the standard for English language esotericism in the early 20th century, aptly termed the "Encyclopedia of Initiation" by its principal editor and contributor, Aleister Crowley. This ten-volume collection had remarkable variety, depth, and the utility of its contents encompass Qabalah, tarot, yoga and the essential papers of Crowley's teaching order, A. A. Unfortunately, much of this material is currently out of print. THE BEST OF THE EQUINOX, DRAMATIC RITUAL, curated by scholar and U.S. Deputy Grandmaster General of the O.T.O., Lon Milo DuQuette, collects the best of Crowley's material from both in-print and out-of-print sources. For Crowley collectors, initiates and the curious alike, this is an accessible, affordable and essential volume. * Volume II of the four-volume Weiser collection from Crowley's classic Equinox compiled by O.T.O. luminary Lon Milo DuQuette * This is the only collection of its kind, hand selected from both in-print and out-of-print editions * Contains all the dramatic rituals of The Equinox, for the first time in one volume!
