ReviewsLooking at the cover image I first thought that this book would be for advanced carvers only but as I looked through the different projects, with the in-depth directions and step-by-step photos I changed my mind. Although the projects are from simple to complex, even the complex ones are doable by beginners, just by carefully following each step and perhaps, if necessary, simplifying some of the details. Project include traditional characters, humorous designs, craft ideas, and more. How proud I would be to have any of these projects adorning my house for the holidays. The Handcarved Christmas book (ISBN 978-1-56523-605-9; Fox Chapel Publishing) contains projects and patterns for ornaments, gifts, earrings, several Santas and more. There are also instructions for how to carve intaglio style, adding texture with a woodburner, making an adjustable carving, how to weight a carving and using mass production techniques.
