Description
The follow-up to Blue is the Warmest Color (adapted into a Palme D'Or-Winning film in 2013; also available from Turnaround) is a fiery, intense story about the recklessness of fame. A 'skandalon' is a word found in the Old Testament referring to a persistent trap or obstacle, similar to the one encountered by the nameless songwriter protagonist of the novel. He is Jim Morrison-like; passionate, arrogant and sometimes selfish and violent. He is both a charismatic leader and a catalyst of chaos and scandal; his fans, though loyal, are secretly hoping he fails.
