Horst Gerhard Schneider was once a young, naive member of the SS. Now in his 80s, he's still at large, living in poverty in an anonymous North American city. When a troubled teen in his apartment building pulls out a swastika flag, it triggers memories of his own past working as a driver for infamous SS leader Reinhard Heydrich. In his efforts to bond with the youth, Horst faces down the reasons why young men do what they do and the forces in society that prey on them. The tensions between guilt and wisdom, between past and present, build to a powerful climax.
