Author Biography
Melinda Lee Rathjen grew up in southern Illinois, reading past her bedtime whenever she could get away with it. As an editor at WorthyKids, she still spends a lot of time reading, though stealth and flashlights are rarely necessary. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with two very opinionated cats. Gareth Williams was born in Hillingdon, West London, but ventured (when he was two) to the green valleys of South Wales. At an early age he loved to draw, and he quickly realized that his dream of becoming the first Welsh astronaut would be sidelined by his creative abilities and talents (but he still secretly wishes he could have rocketed into space). Gareth studied Illustration at Swansea Metropolitan and went on to work with leading stationery and greeting card companies. His work has a strong illustrative influence, with lots of textures and layers to create a hand-drawn style. Gareth lives in Romford, Essex, United Kingdom.
Reviews"A tow truck shows off their holiday preparation skills. This Christmas board book features many different types of vehicles, but when it comes to superior decorating and merrymaking skills, the wrecker takes top prize. There are holiday puns galore here: 'Boats buoy spirits / in low or yuletide.' 'Taxis fare well / at making things merry.' Young readers who adore all things with wheels will be delighted to see buses, race cars, semis, and trains, among others. The wrecker really takes center stage in this story, proving helpful at stringing Christmas lights, towing Santa's cookies, and hanging ornaments on a tree. . . . Full of what little readers love." --Kirkus Reviews "An adorable addition to most board book collections, especially those in need of uplifting holiday stories."--School Library Journal
