Author Biography

Randal Betz Jr. was born on January 16, 1979 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and spent his summers deep-sea fishing and playing on the beaches of Ocean City, New Jersey. For high school he went to the Pennington School in New Jersey, where friends, teachers, and coaches forever influenced him. He has a degree in animal biology from Penn State University, which he does not use professionally, but more so for his passionate hobby of turtle and tortoise conservation. He currently lives in Wilmington, Delaware, with his wife, Meghann, and their four children. He is a full-time husband and father, a medical sales consultant by day, a tortoise conservationist by night.Carol Shrader is wife to Wade and mom to four children--Benjamin, Mason, Claire, and Cate. Benjamin and Mason have cerebral palsy. Carol and Wade's world is colored by wheelchairs, lifts, accessible vans, and the most amazing young people she has ever seen! Her children have taught her that no matter what our differences, we can always find something in common.
