Author Biography

When it comes to living the life of a senior, Wyman Sanders is fortunate to be able to utilize his past experience of being both a pediatrician and a psychiatrist. Wyman loves poetry and is able to express his current heart-felt experiences by writing about them in meaningful, positive perceptions of life.Wyman Sanders was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and received his M.D. from the University of Rochester School of Medicine in 1958, before completing his residency in pediatrics at The Massachusetts General Hospital, he became a pediatric fellow at Harvard Medical Center and worked at a private practice for a short time after that. He served in the Army for three years as Chief of Pediatrics at a U.S. Army Hospital in Augsburg, Germany. He then moved to the Los Angeles area in the early 1960s, where he took further training at UCLA, and served as an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UCLA's Neuropsychiatric Institute., running a ward for developmentally retarded, severely delinquent children. He later helped found the Richstone Family Center for abused children and their families, and Optimal Health Management, Inc., which focused on wellness and prevention. Wyman also served as the Western Medical Psychiatrist for the Bresler Center, which specialized in using both Eastern and Western medicine to address pain. He is now retired and lives in Santa Monica.
