Recently, families have become very interested in family genealogy and would like to research their own family history. However, few know how or where to begin, and therefore many give up even before starting their own search. Online subscription services can be helpful but can cause great frustration especially if only limited information is available to start with. These online services are typically dependent on user-generated information, where a user can input information about a person or group of people to one or more databases. However, these records are susceptible to containing incorrect information or transcription errors, and it is difficult to locate these inaccurate records and to make corrections even if they are found. This is problematic because it can cause other users to find false leads and potentially add further inaccurate records to the databases. Our Tree Leaves offers the researcher a method to create a family treasure with a new and less complex approach. This method also includes templates to assist the researcher gather and collect discoveries.
