Description
Grace and the Christmas Angel, created by bestselling author Lucinda Riley and her son Harry Whittaker, is a reassuring, timeless story and the first book in the Guardian Angels series. Because somewhere, an angel is listening . . . It's Christmas Eve. The tree is decorated, the presents are wrapped and it's a big day for Grace. She is singing a song in the nativity show, and her fisherman daddy has promised to be back in time to watch her. But when a storm blows up at sea, Grace walks out on stage to find Daddy is not there. She's very worried. But luckily, Grace has someone watching over her. Will Hope, the Christmas Angel, be able to help Daddy get home safely for Christmas morning? A beautiful gift-edition hardback, complete with an angel ribbon marker.
Author Biography
Lucinda Riley was born in Ireland, and after an early career as an actress in film, theatre and television, wrote her first book aged twenty-four. Her books have been translated into thirty-seven languages and sold twenty million copies worldwide. She was a No.1 Sunday Times and New York Times bestseller. Grace and the Christmas Angel was her first story for young children. Harry Whittaker grew up in the 1990s and spent the first few years of his life on the rural west coast of Ireland, with a poor TV signal (and certainly no iPad). It was therefore left to his mother to entertain him, which she did through telling him stories. As a result, Harry has become a storyteller himself, as an award-winning radio presenter for the BBC and a member of one of the UK's most renowned improv troupes, who perform all over the UK. Harry and his mum now hope to spread a little warmth through the Guardian Angels series, which is Harry's first published work. Jane Ray is a children's illustrator admired worldwide for her exquisite, hand-painted artwork. She has illustrated over sixty children's books, working with bestselling authors such as Michael Rosen, Carol Ann Duffy and Jeanette Winterson. Jane has been shortlisted six times for the Kate Greenaway Award, won the Smarties Prize for The Story of Creation and was the UK's 2018 Nominee for the IBBY Hans Christian Andersen Award.
