Description

There's room for everyone here! A picture book about tolerance and sharing. The deer have discovered a secret place while on a road trip in their chic convertible. And of course they want it all to themselves! But soon, more and more animals gather at the lake. They go swimming, sunbathe, play cards, take naps, and have picnics. There's a lot going on! And the deer are not happy about that-at all. When it suddenly starts to rain and the seats in the great (topless-because deer have very tall antlers!) convertible get wet, the other animals come to the rescue with the same blankets, umbrellas, and towels that had previously irritated the deer. The deer soon realize, with regret, that it's nicer when all the animals are together and getting along.

Author Biography

Stephanie Schneider, born in 1972, has wanted to write books since she was a child. Initially, however, she was far too busy building lairs, founding secret clubs, and believing in merpeople. It was only after studying art, and a few years as a teacher, that she remembered her childhood dream job. Ever since, she has been going to her favorite cafe every morning, where she writes works for children and adults. Stephanie lives with her family in Hanover. Susan Batori lives with her soulmate, Robert, and her cat, Kamilla, in Budapest, Hungary. She studied graphic design at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts. While working as art director at an advertising agency, Susan quickly noticed that it was far more fun to create and draw funny characters. Therefore, in 2013, she became a children's book illustrator and has been working with numerous international publishers ever since. The one thing she can't do without when illustrating: humor!

Reviews

"This is a heartwarming story about the power of acceptance and friendship. Young readers will learn the value of leading with kindness, and will see how easy it can be to make new friends when you learn to accept others and share." --Jessica DelVirginia, author of Rocky's Road to the Big City
