Description
Something, or someone, is harming sea creatures, and as a result, the mer are at risk. India Finch, a part-human/part-mermaid, is called underwater to heal the animals. But simply healing the hurt is not enough. India is determined to discover who or what is causing so much pain, even if it puts her own life at risk. Author Biography
Julie Gilbert has been writing and publishing since the fourth grade, when she stapled together a series of graphic novels about her cat. Julie is the author of the Dark Waters series from Stone Arch Books, as well as several titles in the Girls Survive series. She also has written Cemetery Songs, a novel for young adults. Julie's novels consider themes of identity and belonging, often with a healthy dose of fantasy and magic. She lives with her family in Minnesota. Kirbi Fagan is a vintage-inspired artist living in the Detroit, Michigan, area. She is an award-winning illustrator who specializes in creating art for young reaers. Her work is known for magical themes, vintage textures, bright colors, and powerful characterization. She received her bachelor's degree in illustration from Kendall College of Art and Design. Kirbi lives by two words: "Spread joy." She is known to say, "I'm in it with my whole heart." When not illustrating, Kirbi enjoys writing stories, spending time with her family, and rollerblading with her dog, Sophie.
