Description
Why should you respect other people? What should you do if you break the rules? What makes a good role model? Read 'Fair Play' to learn about how people should behave when they play sports and games. Find out why people need rules, why cheating is wrong, and how to cope when you lose.
ReviewsHelps children understand why it is important to play fair when participating in sports and games. Photographs of children and adults playing different types of games appropriately. Very simply laid out and easy to follow. -Laura F. Leytham, Kirk L. Adams Elementary School Clark County School District Library Services 5/10/2010-- "Clark County School District Library Services" This extremely worthwhile series discusses what citizenship is and why it is important. In each book, the individual topic is defined. The text presents a multitude of realistic situations to which young children will relate. There are Think About It fact boxes and checklists that aid in understanding and that will spark discussion. All are filled with captioned, color photographs that relate to the text. The information is relevant and current. There are other sets on similar topics; and although this one is written at a slightly higher reading level, the fact boxes that ask for thoughts and ideas and the checklists are a very positive addition. If you need a series to update or add to what you have, strongly consider this high quality set. This publisher also has a similar series called Citizenship (2008) that is for younger children. Bibliography. Glossary. Websites. Table of Contents. Index. Highly Recommended--Melinda W. Miller, K-12 Library Media Specialist, Colton-Pierrepont Central School, Colton, New York Library Media Connection January/February 2010-- "Library Media Connection"
