Description
Your body is amazing! There are parts you can see and parts under your skin that you can't see. These parts work together to keep you alive and help you to do incredible things. You can feel your heart beating in your chest. Have you ever wondered why it does? Read this book in the 'Body Systems' series to find out!
ReviewsTitles included in the series, Body Systems are: The Skeletal and Muscular Systems, The Sensory System, The Circulatory System, The Respiratory System, and the Digestive System. This reviewer read the first four books. The series is intended for the first through third grade student. The sentence structure is simple however the information provided is detailed and comprehensive. There is too much information for the young reader to absorb in one independent reading. The series is an excellent source for the primary teacher to use for instruction with opportunity for class discussion and direct teaching. The books are illustrated with colorful photographs and detailed diagrams. They include a table of contents, glossary, index, and sources for further research. The series should be considered a good purchase to support the science curriculum. Recommended--Pam Hall, Library Media Specialist, Corey School Arlington Independent School District9/18/2008-- "Arlington Independent School District" What a great series! I really like the layout, photographs and the easy to follow language. The illustrations are wonderful and accurate. The glossary is a great tool and the index is very helpful to find things quickly. There are internet links and similar books to read on the subject that are listed at the end of the book.
