Description
Book band: Lime (Ideal for ages 6+) A fun, heartwarming animal story, ideal for children practising their reading at home or in school, by Ben Bailey Smith, author of World Book Day book The Last Word. Crumbs. That's all that's left in Dan's lunchbox. CRUMBS! Well, who's eaten his sandwich? Could it have been Henry the horse? Bill the pig? Or even Bridget the chicken? One thing's for sure, Dan's going to find out just who ate his lovely egg mayonnaise sandwich. This fun, rhyming story from rapper, actor and comedian Ben Bailey Smith (author of the picture books Bear and Bear Moves) is perfect for children who are learning to read by themselves at Key Stage 1 (KS1). Features dynamic illustrations from Sav Akyuz and fun characters young readers will find hard to resist. _______________ Bloomsbury Young Readers are the perfect way to get children reading, with book-banded stories by brilliant authors like Julia Donaldson. The series is ideal for both home and school, with gorgeous colour illustrations, tips for parents, and fun activity ideas. Online guided reading and teaching notes, written by the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education (CLPE), are available at bloomsburyreaders.com. 'Every child needs a Bloomsbury Young Reader. Fun, stretching, just the right length, full of adventurous vocabulary and punctuation.' - Julie-Ann McCulloch, Teacher
Author Biography
Ben Bailey Smith started his career as a UK-based rapper known as Doc Brown before diversifying and moving into mainstream TV and film acting, stand up comedy, screen writing and children's books. He has a host of notable television performances under his belt including roles in Law & Order and Miranda as well as the British children's show 4 O'Clock Club. Sav Akyuz is an illustrator with 14 years of storyboard artistry behind him. Sav has been asked to sketch many things by TV advertising executives from things that excite (sports, cars, a combination of both) to those that, perhaps, don't quite hold such a glamorous appeal (roasted vegetables). Sav has also been a visual effects artist on numerous feature films, a cloth-layer upper for Burberry and served ice cream outside the Tate Britain.
